Super Liga (Indonesia) — league overview

Liga 1 is Indonesia's top division, where eighteen clubs play a double round-robin from August to May. Indonesian football is followed with an intensity out of all proportion to the league's revenues: crowds rank among the largest in Asia, regional identity is fiercely held, and a fixture such as Persija Jakarta against Persib Bandung carries a weight that extends well beyond the table. Persib Bandung, Persija Jakarta and Persebaya Surabaya are among the most established institutions in the country, while clubs from Kalimantan and eastern Indonesia have become regular challengers as the league's geography has broadened. Squads combine domestic players with a limited quota of foreign signings, many recruited from South America and the Balkans. Travelling an archipelago spanning three time zones is a structural burden no league of comparable size carries.

No Super Liga fixtures are scheduled in the next seven days. The 2026/2027 season runs from 4 September 2026 to 5 June 2027.
