The Supercopa de España has been contested since 2020 as a four-team mini-tournament held in January, with semi-finals and a final staged over several days, most often in Saudi Arabia under a commercial agreement that has drawn sustained criticism in Spain. The field comprises the LaLiga champion and runner-up together with the Copa del Rey winner and runner-up, replacing the older two-club format between league and cup champions. Real Madrid and Barcelona dominate the honours list. The mid-season timing and neutral, distant venue give the competition a distinctive character: squads are at full sharpness, unlike in August super cups, but the matches are played before crowds unrepresentative of either club's support. It remains a genuine trophy and, for the clubs involved, a lucrative one.
No Super Cup fixtures are scheduled in the next seven days. The 2027 edition is played on 2 February 2027.
