Super League (Switzerland) — league overview

Switzerland's Super League is Europe's most compact top division, with 12 clubs playing 36 matches in a quadruple round-robin, meaning every side faces every other four times. That format produces unusually familiar, tactically iterative fixtures and leaves little margin for a poor run. Grasshoppers lead the all-time count, though the modern era has belonged to Basel and Young Boys, both of whom have reached the Champions League group stage and produced notable European results. Swiss football is well funded relative to the league's size, organisationally professional, and multilingual in a way that eases recruitment across the German, French and Italian markets. The league is a reliable seller to the Bundesliga in particular, and its academies have supplied much of a consistently competitive national team.

No Super League fixtures are scheduled in the next seven days. The 2026/2027 season runs from 25 July 2026 to 7 February 2027.
