Premier League (Thailand) — league overview

Thai League 1 is Thailand's top division and, by continental record, the strongest domestic competition in South-East Asia, with clubs qualifying regularly for the AFC's premier club tournament. Sixteen clubs play a double round-robin from September to May, with relegation to Thai League 2. Buriram United have dominated the modern era, and their sustained investment in stadium and academy infrastructure set a standard the rest of the league has had to meet; BG Pathum United and the Bangkok clubs form the closest competition. Recruitment reaches into Brazil, Japan and South Korea alongside the domestic market, and the league has become a destination for players from across South-East Asia rather than solely an exporter of them. Heat and humidity shape the schedule, and most fixtures are played in the evening.

No Premier League fixtures are scheduled in the next seven days. The 2026/2027 season runs from 4 September 2026 to 30 May 2027.
