CAF Confederations Cup (International) — league overview

The CAF Confederation Cup is African club football's second-tier continental competition, broadly analogous to the Europa League. It draws domestic cup winners and high-placed league clubs from across the confederation together with sides eliminated from the Champions League qualifying rounds, running through a group stage into two-legged knockouts before a final, and the winner meets the Champions League holder in the CAF Super Cup. North African clubs — Moroccan, Egyptian and Tunisian above all — dominate the honours list, though the competition reaches considerably more of the continent than the Champions League does, and clubs from West, Central and Southern Africa reach the latter stages with some regularity. Long travel, wide variation in pitch and stadium standards and intensely hostile home atmospheres make away legs genuinely difficult, and the prize money is transformative for clubs outside the continental elite.

No CAF Confederations Cup fixtures are scheduled in the next seven days. The 2026/2027 edition ran from 4 September 2026 to 24 October 2026.
