The Copa Sudamericana is CONMEBOL's second continental club competition, launched in 2002 and broadly analogous to the Europa League. It draws clubs that finish below Libertadores qualification in their domestic leagues, along with sides eliminated from the Libertadores group stage, and runs through a group phase into two-legged knockouts before a single-match final. The winner qualifies for the following season's Copa Libertadores, which makes it a genuine pathway rather than a consolation, and also earns a place in the continental super cup. The tournament's breadth is its distinguishing feature: clubs from Bolivia, Venezuela, Peru and Paraguay reach latter stages far more often than in the Libertadores, and the competition has repeatedly launched smaller clubs into continental prominence. Brazilian and Argentine sides remain the most frequent winners.
No Copa Sudamericana fixtures are scheduled in the next seven days. The 2026 edition ran from 3 March 2026 to 21 October 2026.
